It refers to terms in the standard sense, such as ‘[[terminologist]]’ and ‘[[lexicographer]]’, where each term is presented on a page, including definitions, translations, etc. The term pages contain my own research while translating. I basically use them as a notepad and memory aid, so a lot of the content will be quickly written and potentially far from perfect. About this page

Correct and consistent terminology is critical in technical translation, which is why I maintain an extensive database of specialist terminology. Michaelbeijer.co.uk contains a selection from my extensive collection, presented in a systematic and easily searchable format. The resources on this site are organised using two main categories: Terms and Terminology resources.

Terminology resources

‘Terminology resources’ refer to any kind of terminological resource: glossaries, termbases, websites with terminology, dictionaries, term lookup software, etc. The bulk of the terminology on this site consists of bilingual (mainly Dutch/English) and multilingual glossaries. The resources can be consulted using the alphabetical index pages below.

  • Visit one of the alphabetical index pages (see above) to consult the hundreds of glossaries available on this site
  • Consult the many individual Terms I have researched
  • Browse the various Categories used to organise the site as a whole
  • Have a look through the Tag cloud
  • Try the search box above. Tip: put your search term "in quotes"!
