Correct and consistent terminology is critical in translation, especially when working on technical material. I therefore maintain an extensive database of specialist bilingual terminology and various tools for accessing and managing it.

One of these tools is my terminology website, Beijerterm.com, which is one of the world’s largest collections of specialist Dutch/English terminology. It’s a MediaWiki-powered website where I collect general and specialist bilingual terminology in a systematic and easily searchable format. Fellow translators who are struggling with a difficult term often rely on Beijerterm.

I also regularly contribute to Proz.com’s terminology search system, where I frequently rank among the top ‘KudoZ point leaders’ in my language pair.
