What languages do I translate?

I translate from Dutch to English and vice versa.

What's my native language?

I’m native in both English and Dutch, having been raised bilingually by a Dutch father and an American mother.

What kind of documents do translate?

I can translate a wide variety of file formats. Whatever the file format, I will find a way to translate it for you!

Only have a PDF? No problem! I am also very skilled at converting complex PDFs to an editable/translatable format prior to translation and know ABBYY Finereader OCR Editor inside out.

Need to work in a special CAT tool format? Also not an issue, since I’m an expert at all the major CAT tools, such as memoQ, Trados Studio, Wordfast, etc., and can easily handle their various file formats/packages and provide you with useful and time-saving advice.

What are my rates for: translation, editing, copywriting, terminology work, consulting?

There are simply too many variables involved to be able to give you a one-size-fits-all price for each of my services. Get in touch and I’m sure we can find a rate that works for both of us!

How many words have I translated in my life?

I recently calculated that I have translated around 25 million words over the past 30 years.

How can you check whether a translation agency is a good payer?

Paymentpractices.net (oldest, most extensive dataset related to the payment practices of translation agencies)
ProZ.com Blue Board (database of translation agencies, with feedback from ProZ.com translators and interpreters)
World Payment Practices Free (WPPF)(mailing list on Groups.io for translators to learn about agencies’ payment practices)

What data security measures do I take to keep your information secure?

Your data’s security and privacy are paramount to me. I implement strict protocols to ensure your information is handled safely and responsibly. Files and personal data are stored on secure, encrypted systems, and any sensitive material is transmitted through secure channels only. Additionally, I maintain confidentiality agreements as standard practice and regularly update my security protocols to stay in line with industry standards. Your trust is essential, and I’m committed to protecting it every step of the way.
